Specification & unit
A rare-earth basket is not a single interchangeable commodity. Record the individual element, oxide or metal basis, assay, impurities and any magnet-performance requirement.
Permanent magnets for motors and generators · Catalysts and polishing · Specialist electronic and optical applications
Distinguish extraction, separation into individual elements, metal-making and magnet manufacture. A mixed rare-earth product does not establish magnet-grade supply.
A rare-earth basket is not a single interchangeable commodity. Record the individual element, oxide or metal basis, assay, impurities and any magnet-performance requirement.
Is the route magnet-to-magnet reuse or extraction of individual elements? Can magnets be identified, dismantled and sorted into a suitable feed?
List scope varies: Australia uses rare-earth elements and separately lists scandium; the US names individual elements; EU lists distinguish light and heavy groups and magnet-related strategic elements.
The watchpoint, specification caveat and recycling question are editorial due-diligence prompts, not a measured bottleneck score, quote or engineering recommendation.
